Our Twins
Chandler Charles and Paisley Joan
When I was young, I always dreamed of having twins. Imagine my excitement in June 2014 when that dream came true? That excitement was furthered in September 2014 when we learned we were having boy/girl twins. Could that be any more perfect? I mean, really? Two babies together, a boy and a girl, best friends forever.
Then, October 2014 happened, and our lives were forever changed. Our world crashed. Chandler Charles and Paisley Joan were born 18 weeks early, at 22 weeks. Our perfect world ended. The dreams we had died when our precious babies took their last breaths on October 21 and 22, 2014.
Our precious, perfect little babies entered the gates of Heaven, where they will wait for us to join them. Everything changed for us then. And we wouldn't ever want it to be the same.
Remington Ann and Kanon Rockford
September 2015, eleven months after the loss of our precious twins, we found out that by God's grace, we were having another set of twins. I can't even describe the fear that set in at that moment.
Thankfully, through a connection of friends through social media, I was connected with an incredible MFM in Kansas City, MO, who followed studies regarding prevention of incompetent cervix and pre-term labor that were currently happening in Europe, and believed in the use of the arabin pessary. In November 2015, I had the pessary inserted. And through God's mercy and with the help of the pessary, I was able to carry Kanon and Remi until 34 weeks 6 days, which was when they made their beautiful and noisy entrance to this world, to help heal our hearts so much.
