TTC Timeline
- March 2012 –
stopped birth control pills
- August 2012 –
started “trying” by timed intercourse
- April 10th,
2013 – First visit to my doctor about our lack of luck trying to get pregnant
- April 19th,
2013 – Scheduled HSG test, canceled due to HCG test showing HCG level of 10 (approximately 3 weeks pregnant)
- April 22nd,
2013 – blood work showed HCG of zero, miscarried/chemical pregnancy
- April 29th,
2013 – HSG test – doctor determined my left tube is blocked & my uterus appeared “unusually small”
- April 2013 –
sperm analysis – showed not the greatest results, but not terrible
- May 8th,
2013 – MRI to look for problems with my uterus, results were normal
- May 2013, first cycle on clomid, good response, BFN
- June 2013, 2nd cycle on clomid, no response, decision was made to increase clomid dose for August cycle due to July vacation
- August 17th, 2013 – began increased dose of clomid with plans for AI for this cycle
- August 30th, 2013 – First AI (IUI)
- September 23rd, 2013 – blood work confirmed the AI didn’t work, started progesterone to make my next cycle start
- October 18th, 2013 – IUI #2, result – BFN, again, progesterone needed to start my cycle
- December cycle – took a break, cycle ended up being 45 days long, when up until first IUI, they had always been 28-29 days
- January 3rd – 2nd scan of this cycle showed no growth in follicles – IUI cancelled for this cycle
- February 10th – 3rd IUI
- February 21st– Cycle started - 3rd IUI failed
- March 6th - cycle cancelled
- March 19th - met with APN from RE clinic and made decision to move on to IVF
- April 2nd - blood test and birth control begins
- May 2nd - received IVF calendar
- May 13th - trial transfer and blood work before beginning injections
- May 14th - ordered injection meds
- May 17th - began stimulation injections
- May 20th - first blood test, result was normal range
- May 22nd - first ultrasound - 11 follicles!
- May 25th - second ultrasound - 15 measurable follicles with several small ones!
- May 27th - 3rd ultrasound - 26 follicles!
- May 27th - trigger shot
- May 29th - egg retrieval
- May 31st - Fertilization report indicates 3 day transfer
- June 1 - Transferred 2 embryos
- June 12 - First Beta results - HCG of 374 - Are there 2?!?!
- June 16 - Second Beta results - HCG of 2,405!!
- June 27 - First ultrasound - 2 sacks!
- July 2 - Second ultrasound - 2 heartbeats!
- July 22 - Third ultrasound - 9 weeks 1 day!
Reading this I am encouraged by two things. First, 26 eggs! that is an awesome number!! I had 8, only 6 that were mature and fertilized. Second, while I had failed clomid (5 months I think!) and IUIs too (three) I am encouraged that your first IVF worked. My first did not, even though we transferred THREE perfect embryos. You are already a Mom, but will have another or two, I know it!
